The Rise of the Weekday Wedding

With 2020 weddings being rescheduled to new dates, we’re seeing the rise of a new trend: the weekday wedding! Since weekends in 2021 we’re booked before the COVID-19 crisis, couples moving their dates had limited or no weekend dates.

While it could mean lower attendance as most people work weekdays, there are benefits to weekday weddings as well. 

Even if you receive less “yeses” in your RSVPs, that just means more time to spend with your guests who are able to attend. Intimate weddings are a way to bond and spend quality time with each guest rather than feeling rushed to just say “hi” to everyone.

Monday weddings mean a longer weekend to celebrate

Hello, three day weekend! Isn't that what we all want anyhow?? Give you guests the gift of a three day weekend.

Opportunity to do something different

Thursday's wedding? Skip brunch the next morning and host a simple dinner to keep the party going into the weekend.

Additional perks

Couples who opt for less sought after dates might be able to upgrade their packages for less or receive complimentary upgrades. Some examples of what you might find include an extra hour of coverage, upgraded signature drink., ect. Or in lue of perks, you may receive reduced rates. Venues often have a higher cost for peak dates.

Vendor and venue availability

Remember those harder to book venues that typically book years in advance for weekend dates? Those are now an option for couples looking to get married during the week. Not only that but couples will likely have their pick of vendors as vendors are more likely to be open during the week as well.

Discounted travel

Not traveling on peak weekend dates means discounts for flights, ubers, hotels, pretty much everything! So while guests may have to take a day off of work, they’ll be able to make up for it with savings elsewhere.
